Indigenous Animals Directory
From IffaWiki
This is a first draft of an Animals of Victoria section of IFFA Wiki.
Please use this page to list species in Common name order, using the scientific name as the link to the page about the species. On the same line as the common name put the species' scientific name in round brackets.
To add a new species page you need to be logged on so that you can select the edit tab. Start with creating the link to the new page on this page - when you then click on the link, the new page is created. To create a link, click on the edit tab above, then on a new line start with a colon, surround the scientific name in double square brackets, follow with the common name in round brackets, then click on show preview to check the consistency of your layout. If it looks good, click on the save page button, and then click on the link you have just created to create the new page for the species. Links that don't yet have a page for them show up in red.
A scientific name index page can be developed later, as can a hierarchical index.
When establishing a new description, please use the outline set up in the Animal description pro-forma. You must be logged on to edit a page or establish a new page. To copy the animal description pro-forma, log on then click on the link above, click on the edit tab, copy the text and formatting, then paste the text and formatting into the new page.
